Woe, Is Me has been one of my favourite bands for a long time but one song has really stood out lately. It is called ‘Fame > Demise’ which is pronounced ‘Fame over Demise’. It is an acoustic song performed by Tyler Carter. (Woe, Is Me’s previous soft singer).

A Day to Remember – What Separates Me from You

‘What Separates Me from You’ is A Day to Remember’s fourth studio album. I don’t think this is their best album, but it is very good. This album opens with a heavy song ‘Sticks and Bricks’ which sounds a lot like their old album Homesick which is more heavy then their other albums. The next song is called ‘All I Want’ is a happy song which gives you inspiration with the lyrics ‘keep your hopes up high and your head down low.’ My favourite song is 2nd Sucks. What I like about that song is that it’s all about being independent and not needing anyones help.
It was originally going to be released on October 26, 2010 but it didn’t end up getting released until November 15, 2010. It was first released in the United Kingdom and then moved on to the United States. The album was recorded at Wade Studios in Ocala, Florida from May to July 2010. The album was produced by Chad Gilbert of New Found Glory and Andrew Wade, who also produced the band’s previous album, Homesick.

Australian post hardcore band, The Amity Affliction

Don't Have a Boring Summer!
This summer Tasmania is having a great range of music festivals as always!  It’s a few days of fun in the sun, jam packed with fine tunes, warm weather, camping and arts.
Falls festival is having another great line up of bands down at Marion Bay in Hobart. Big bands that everyone are looking forward to are Crystal Castles (experimental electronic), The Kooks (indie rock), The Jezabels, Fleet Foxes (folk), Arctic Monkeys and more! There will also be solo artists such as Josh Pyke, Tim Finn, Josh Thomas and more.

Falls Festival.  Published November 22nd, 2010

Falls is a music festival for a whole different range of people like young people, older people and even families. Personally I don’t go much on the music, I go more for the atmosphere and the people. Although Falls is a lovely, friendly place to be you will come across some unfriendly, overly drunk people. You need to make sure you leave nothing in your tents that is important to you when you go to listen to some music! Also don’t even try and smuggle in alcohol. If you are caught you will lose your ticket and be told to go home, which would be a horrible waste of $230. If you would like to find out more visit the Falls Festival website: http://www.fallsfestival.com.au/

Breath of Life Festival logo

What I’m really looking forward to next year is Breath of Life in Launceston in March. 2 days, 20 hours, 3 Stages, 1 massive line up! Ministry Of Sound Dance Arena will be one massive party which has been seven years in the making. My favourite band, The Amity Affliction (Australian post-hardcore band) will be going there. More well-known bands will be going there such as Hilltop Hoods, Short Stack, Parkway Drive, The Living End, Sneaky Sound System and more! Breath of Life is a fundraiser to raise money for lung cancer which makes you feel good for donating! To find out more check out the Breath of Life website! http://breathoflifefestival.com/

The Hobart community are very lucky to have the six year running MS Fest in Hobart at the T.C.A grounds on 3rd March next year. Instead of us Hobart kids travelling all the way to Launceston to see this event the tables have turned and it’s time for Launceston to make a bit more of an effort to see their favourite bands. MS Fest is a fundraising event for multiple sclerosis which is a disease in which the nerves of the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) degenerate. The line-up for MS Fest will be out closer to the date.
