Teachers’ farewell

Coming towards the end of the year we would just like to say goodbye and good luck to all staff leaving this year. Teachers leaving include:
Mr Winter, who is retiring
Mr Maunder, who is going on long service leave
Mrs Wilson, who will be on maternity leave

Mr Winter is looking forward to travelling after his retirement.
“My best memory at Clarence high would be the establishment of the computer and robotics programs” –Mr Winter

Mr Maunder will be on long service leave for 65 teaching days.
He will miss the students, and some staff members.
I’m looking forward to going on an overseas holiday for 7 weeks and the rest of my time I will be at home working in my vegetable garden. I collect bee’s to make honey. I will go fishing a lot, go swimming and look after my chickens.”-Mr Maunder
He won’t miss the noise in the corridors.

We would also like to welcome back staff who will be returning next year. Mr Wigger will be returning from long service leave, after having a lovely holiday in Europe. We also welcome all new staff who will be starting next year.

Personalised Learning exhibitions

Personalised Learning students are currently doing their exhibitions. They do this to show the work that they have produced and what they have learnt during the year to their teachers, family and classmates.
They present their work in their own individual ways such as power points, speeches, posters, magazines, collages, diagrams, practical etc.

INTER HIGH ATHLETICS

Inter High Athletics carnival, held on November 16th, was a huge success. Congratulations to all participants.  The day was great fun and for year tens it could have possibly been their last race.. We fielded participants for every event; we had people cover for others after injury.
Congratulations to Matt Hosie for doing amazingly well and breaking two records. He is now the holder of the grade seven long jump and discus records for the south of the state. Also congratulations to Tim Coad for jumping a huge 1.8m in the high jump. Well done boys for the outstanding effort.
A huge thankyou to Mr Hughes for organising it and for all teachers and helpers on the day.

Youth Build

Year nine students need to get their applications into Ms Maher or Flo as soon as possible. There will be an interview for students on Monday December 5th.

So... what is Youth Build?
Well throughout the year some of the grade ten boys were a part of a programme called Youth Build. Every Thursday the boys travelled together to Claremont College and built items for K&D Warehouse.
Youth Build is a fantastic way to gain skills in;
Matthew  said “I recommend Youth Build because it is a great opportunity and it was a lot of fun.”
